Heidi Stangeland is a Norwegian-born screenwriter and storyteller based in California, known for blending Nordic noir and science fiction in emotionally rich, atmospheric narratives. Raised in Southern Norway and immersed in Norse mythology and folklore, her work draws deeply from themes of mystery, myth, and psychological depth.

She is a multi-optioned screenwriter who has been hired for both original projects and ghostwriting assignments across genres. Her work spans film, television, and branded content, with a focus on character-driven thrillers and speculative fiction.

In 2021, Stangeland founded Hanè Saga, a nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting emerging storytellers through year-round programs and its annual hybrid Storytelling Conference.

As a naturalist with a conservation-focused nonprofit, she teaches educational programs that reconnect communities with the natural world. Her work in this space reflects her deep commitment to mindfulness, environmental stewardship, and holistic well-being. 

 A passionate advocate for mental health awareness and empowerment in the creative industries, Stangeland serves on the board of a nonprofit organization working to break the stigma surrounding mental health and help underserved communities through education and empowerment.  

Heidi resided in California with her children and cats,  balancing her creative career and family life with a strong commitment to self-care, resilience, and the transformative power of storytelling.
